Hi. I’m Jean. Jeanie to my friends.

I’m a red-headed Okie GenXer who loves 80s music, coffee, tea and dark chocolate, pickles, knitting and crochet and other crafty things, scary movies, many kinds of books, and the collective works of Joss Whedon.

I’m wife to Matt and “mom” to a chihuahua, a lone cat and two box turtles (I love them, too, in case you were wondering). I write novels (sweet paranormal romance, urban fantasy and horror/thriller) and I make my living as a freelance writer.

I’m a lifelong Jesus girl who is in the midst of a spiritual awakening, waking up to who God really is, what He desires from me and who He made me to be. I’ve survived abuse, bullying, miscarriages, infertility and other hardships and tragedies. Through it all God is teaching me how to not simply survive, but to overcome.

My heart’s desire is to help others do the same, to be a voice of encouragement, kindness and comfort, to be a light in the darkness, one that leads to healing, restoration and peace.

This blog is a chronicle of my journey through healing, growing and learning to live fully into the woman I was made to be, stepping out in faith to pursue a creative, faith-driven life that will, hopefully, inspire others to do the same, all to bring Him glory.

So pour yourself a cup of your favorite hot or cold beverage, pull up a chair, and join me on this journey.
